Hornick Cottage is situated in High Street / Lanjeth, a semi-rural hamlet about 2 miles west of St Austell. This makes the cottage an ideal base for a self catering family holiday. Hornick Cottage is a detached granite cottage which has been extended to provide deceptively spacious living accomodation. There are wonderful views from the lounge/diner and upstairs bedrooms. To the front, views extend over the front garden, across open countryside to the sea in the distance (on a good day to Penzance!). The views from the rear are over the rear garden to the Blackpool trail. The cottage is close to local amenities (shop and pub 1 mile) as well as numerous popular attractions such as Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park, The Eden Project , The Lost Gardens of Heligan, various National Trust properties and the south coast with its opportunities for coastal and cliff top walks.

Accommodation Details

Bedrooms The three bedrooms consist of: A double bedroom with a traditional metal bedsted, bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe and lloyd loom chair. A twin bedroom, with two single beds, bedside tables, wardrobe, rocking chair and chest of drawers. A single room with bunk beds, bedside table, chest of drawers, wardrobe and lloyd loom chair.

Living Room In the lounge there are the usual TV with DVD, radio/CD player, there are some books, dvds, and games available to use in the cottage. There are also a range of leaflets and maps for information.

Kitchen The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, fridge freezer.

Other Rooms The cottage has oil-fired central heating, immersion heater, and is fully double glazed. Pets welcome subject to negotiation and small charge.

Cleaning & Linen Towels, and linen are fully included.

Accomodation Notes Children very welcome, they will love the sandy beaches but only have access to the "wet areas" of the health club at the hotel.

Outside The front garden is mainly laid to lawn and some flower beds. It is enclosed by stone wall with access from the road. There is a small seating area. To the rear of the cottage there is a parking space and a terraced garden with steps to a seating area and barbecue.

Also close by are the picturesque villages of Charlestown, Mevagissey and Gorran Haven.

Local Information Cornwall's miles of scenic clay trails offer a unique opportunity for visitors to explore this area of Cornwall by foot or bicycle. The road links also offer an easy opportunity to explore and discover the north coast of Cornwall (12 miles to Newquay).

Newquay is a vibrant coastal town on the rugged north coast of Cornwall & a surfers paradise with 7 beaches around the town. 2 sandy beaches, Porth & Lusty Glaze are within 2 mins walk from the hotel. Tennis courts also available at the hotel. England's premier surfing beach, Fistral is just a 10 min drive & 25 min walk.All water sports are provided in the area. Newquay has a good zoo & gardens. There is a golf course in Newquay & several others in the immediate area with stunning sea views.There are coastal cliff walks all along this coast.The hotel itself has a great brassiere restaurant if you do not wish to self cater open for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Leisure Facilities The nearest beach is Porthpean which is 3 miles from the cottage.
